An all-time uniqueness will establish at the 2013 ICF Wildwater Canoeing Junior World Championships in Lofer (Austria), when the German Canoe Federation will organise the Championships together with town of Lofer as a german-austrian cooperation.
„This cooperation was a perfect conclusion, when we got the acceptance of the International Canoe Federation“, means ICF Chairman and Vicepresident of the German Canoe Federation Jens Perlwitz. „Lofer has this wonderful course, an ideal infrastructure and enthusiastic supporters. Together with the organisation of the german team I expect fantastic World Championships.“
The Mayor of Lofer Mrs. Bettina Mitterer completed the statement: „We have a long tradition of wildwater canoeing and canoe-slalom in Lofer. We look forward about this cooperation and think the spectators and the paddlers will enjoy exiting competitions.“
The nations already have their training from sunday on the river Saalach, which has a optimal water level at the moment. After the opening ceremony on tuesday the 14 participating nations with their 100 sportsmen will compete in 20 disciplines. Every day there will be five finals in K1 Women and Men, C1 Women and Men and C2 Men.
The first competition will start on wednesday morning with the finals at the individual classic race, which will be on a 3,5 km long challenging course. On thursday the team-races will start in the morning on the classic distance.

From Friday on the races will be broadcasted on www.kanutube.de via Live-Streaming. The Juniors will have spectacular sprints between the Hubertus-Roller and the Daxbau on the 300m-Sprintcourse.
